The Welsh Baroque Orchestra (director, Andrew Wilson-Dickson) is the only professional group of its kind in Wales, specialising in period instrument performance and being supported by the Welsh Assembly Government. This gives it a strong educational remit which it can meet through its members' considerable store of teaching and playing experience. Its players have devised and taught a wide range of musical projects, from working with young children to teaching in the performance and academic areas of the RWCMD. Thus the WBO can work educationally at various levels:

With adults, the orchestra has the capacity, through its deep fund of knowledge of the practical, theoretical and historical aspects of western music, to devise convincing and intriguing workshops on a wide variety of topics. As well as being professionals in higher education, some of the orchestra members have experience in teaching for courses in continuing education.
